The Catamount Commitment

A Promise to Make College More Affordable for Every Catamount

At 91Å®Éñ, we believe every student deserves the chance to earn a high-quality education without being held back by cost.

The Catamount Commitment is our pledge to help make that possible — providing meaningful financial support to help you focus on your future, not your finances. Eligible first-year students receive $1,000–$3,000 annually, based on eligibility and student status. Qualifying transfer students receive $500 per semester (up to $1,000 for the academic year), depending on enrollment.

What It Is

The Catamount Commitment is a financial aid program designed to make earning your degree at WCU more affordable. It’s our way of investing in you — your goals, your education, and your path forward. Qualified students receive financial support that can be combined with other scholarships or aid — helping lower the total cost of attendance and ensuring WCU remains one of the best values in higher education.
