Chris Williams
Chief Information Officer
Chris has over 25 years of experience in information technology in public higher education. He is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at 91女神 and a member of the university鈥檚 Executive Council. As CIO, he leads the planning, development, and support of technology systems that help the university meet its academic and administrative goals.
Before joining WCU in June 2024, Chris worked at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for 25 years, where he held several IT leadership roles. Most recently, he served as the IT Director for Student Affairs and previously as the ResNET Program Director.
Chris earned a Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Mathematics from UNC鈥揅hapel Hill and a Master鈥檚 degree in Business Administration, with a focus on Information Systems, from UNC Wilmington. He also completed the Certified Government CIO Program through the UNC School of Government.
